Experimental uncertainties?
I was using an oscilloscope in a Lab recently, and I was considering the uncertainties on the readings of divisions
There were about 10 divisions on each screen and in each division, there were 5 spacings, i.e 0.2, 0.4, 0.6., 0.8, 1.0 div
each division is about 1 cm
Let's say I was measuring the period of an oscillation and I got
2.2 divisions, at 20 μs for the timebase sensitivity
What would you work out the uncertainties to be on these two figures? Or is there no uncertainty on the timebase sensitivity
I think your uncertainty is 0.2 div * 20 microseconds.. because it is the smaller division of your scale
