Who can tell me how to fix the transfer control switch on a 1991 Ford Explorer?
We have searched thru the Haynes Manual and there is NO Schematic.
The vehicle does not shift from 2 wheel to 4 wheel drive. It did not when we got it an it still doesn't.
My Dad can fix anything and he has no idea what to do in this situation without a schematic.
The problem is most likely not in the switch, but is in the solenoid that controls the transfer case. A common problem with those vehicles was a corroded ground at the solenoid. Clean the ground connection and 9 times out of ten it will fix the problem. If it does not, replace the solenoid.
