palm treo synchronizing/?
i just got a palm treo 755p, and on the instruction manual it says that i should sync the phone to my computer. im not want to have my computer files on my phone, so is that nessescary?
i just plan on downloading some other programs directly onto the phone later, but i dont want everything on my computer to be on my treo too.
so do i still have to sync it, or can i just skip that step?
synching the 755 to your computer will not copy all the files on your computer or vice versa. the calendar, contacts, task and notes can be sync with outlook or with the palm desktop software. if you dont want any PIMS to sync with your computer, you can set it to do nothing on your computer. It is better that you sync the phone to your computer so you can backup the inforamtion on your computer. if you need to do a hard reset or the phone gets damaged, at least you can still retrieve the information on your computer.
