Voltage sign change on a multimeter?
I have a power supply connected to a multimeter, and get a positive voltage reading, and then I switch the pos and neg leads at the multimeter and get a negative reading. What does this mean or what is the significance of the sign change?
on the multimeter there is a + and - terminal
the meter indicates a positive voltage or current when the + input is connected to the + of the supply and a negative indication when the + input is connected to the - supply
this is valid for Volts and Amps, Ohms, the meter supplies the power
on AC Volts or current there is no polarity
