PIC16F877A Micro controller Problems?
Hello, can anyone help me out with these problems?
1) Design a digital clock using a PIC16F877A and four 7segment display(counts from one second till one minute)
2) Design a voltmeter using a PIC16F877A and a LCD display.
I would be happy enough if anyone can briefly provide the steps or algorithms which can answer those questions.
Do you have a schematic?
A digital clock will need to use a timer, preferably a frequency timer.
Using the timers specs, you should be able to determine what granularity you can work on (pico/nano/millisecond) and start using incremental counters. It is most likely that you don't want millisecond granularity in your digital clock because a 7-segment display will take time to refresh and you will have to compensate.
Therefore you will want your timer set so that it signals you every second. Once you get seconds, you can easily get, minutes, hours and day.
You will also want a way to initially program or seed your digital clock. But that's all a matter of human interface, and I don't want to do your homework, especially when 1000s of people have published code for digital clocks on the Internet.
