I want to buy a portable gas generator large enough to power a window unit and a fridge. What size do I need?
Back Up for hurricane season. We WILL lose power. Need advice.
The depends on the window air unit and the fridge. First thing you need to find out on the window unit it is it 120V or 240V? OK now what is the wattage that both the fridge and Air conditioner use? Remember Voltage X Amperage = Watts. But your typical windows unit and fridge I would guesstimate maybe a 3,000 to 5,000 watt generator should do just fine. Good luck durring hurriance season.
