Does anyone know how can I permanently block a contact?
I need to block a couple of ppl from my contact list. I have erased them already, but I think they may still be able to send me e mails. How can I entirely block them so they cannot send me anything?

To block senders in e-mail, go to Options > Mail Options > Accounts > Spam in Classic Mail or Options > More Options > Accounts > Spam in All-New mail or Help > Options > Spam in Beta Mail.
Then in 'Blocked Email Addresses' on the right, enter the e-mail address you wish blocked, in the box after 'Add a blocked address'. Click on the 'add' button below, then click 'Save changes" at the top of the page.
The other person receives no notice; their mail is not returned as undeliverable - they have no clue, but you never receive their mail again.
The limit of blocked addresses is 500, but most people never get close to this, even when they add spam addresses. Blocking spammers is a waste of time, because they either hide or change the address used to send the mail. Simply mark these as Spam and Delete without ever opening them ... some spam can install malware without your clicking any link in it.
To block senders in Messenger, go to Messenger > Preferences > Ignore List, and add the IM name or e-mail of the person you wish to block. Click Add, then OK or Apply. If you receive contact requests from unknown persons, go to the Ignore List and check 'Ignore anyone who is not on my contact list.' Then click OK or Apply.
